What is longsword fencing?
A modern martial art based on a historical martial art using longsword simulators, also known as "Feders". We have some idea how people trained and a pretty good idea of the techniques they used due to the survival of many fencing manuals, particularly in the German tradition between the 14th and 16th centuries. These can be found in the Staatsbibliothek in Munich. The most beautiful extant longsword is also housed in Munich at the Bavarian National Museum, "the Munich longsword", from where our club gets its name.
Good to know:
Membership is handled via Freyfechter Augustini e.V. which means we are insured and are members of the Bayerischer Landes-Sportverband e.V. See the link below for more info.
You will need to own equipment or hire it. Ask for further information and we will try to accommodate you.
The first two trainings are free but you will need to register in advance. After that the price is 19,50 EUR per month if you train twice per week or 14,50 if you train once per week. There is a 4 EUR discount for anyone who needs it, eg. students, unemployed, refugees. It will not be checked as we operate on trust, so just ask for a discount.
